October Dinner 2018

The club’s event in October will be a dinner at Cuivre, dare we say a simple country-style southern French bistro with a modern take which speaks through both its decor and menu, dishes are pared down and straightforward, yet generously portioned.

The club’s food and wine masters are working with both Michael Wendling and Fanny Cervera on preparing a classical dining experience for members.

September Dinner 2018

The clubs event in September will be a dinner at CHAR, which is s a contemporary steakhouse and bar located atop of the Hotel Indigo.

Dry-age cuts of beef are imported from Australia and the restaurant pays dutiful attention to little details like a selection of cutlery and sea salts.

The upstairs bar is also an attraction with its panoramic, unobstructed riverside views.

The club’s food and wine masters are working with Willmer Colmenares Executive Chef of Hotel Indigo on preparing a classical dining experience for members.

August Dinner 2018

August will see the club returning to sample some of Dan Brady’s hearty fare at Shanghai Slims, which is your quintessential American seafood, steak and chophouse, located in Sinan mansions off of Fuxing Lu.

For those B&B members who attended dinner at Shanghai Slims last year, you will recall the event was held outdoors under a balmy sky, and that’s what planned for this event in August.

No froth, No foam, just honest to goodness fare what B&B was built upon Down Under.

Dress code will be casual with club polo shirts….See Hanns if you are in need of a club polo shirt.

July Dinner 2018

July will see another first for the Shanghailanders, and of course Shanghai B&B clubs in general, by being able to dine at 1921 a villa that is located within the grounds of the Xi Jiao State Guest House, venue of many State visits.

The event is being coordinated by Cooper Tao, former F&B Director of the Waldorf and Andy He Executive Chef, formerly of the Park Hyatt Shanghai.

June Dinner 2018

June see’s the club venturing out of town, to the Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao, where Guido Milner long time B&B veteran will host the Shanghailanders at his hotels Ocho Tapas and Wine lounge, with culinary delights brought together by Chef Alexandre Bauer.

Alexandre redefines cooking as culinary arts and combines inspiration from his global culinary experience to create avant-garde cuisine at the Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao.

January 2018 Dinner

The clubs event in January will be at Colca

Colca is serial restaurateur Eduardo Vargas trying the business strategy of “honesty” with this latest restaurant. He’s cooking the food of his heritage: Peruvian. With Mike Braun and Robb Spitzer working on a unique seasonal mouth-watering menu, along with wines for the clubs dinner.

December 2017 Annual Black Tie Dinner

The clubs event in December will be the Annual Black-tie Dinner event. The event is being held at the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund, and will take place on Friday December 8, 2017.

The club’s food and wine masters are working with the Waldorf on preparing a classical dining experience for members, partners and guests.

As the club is a not for profit, the committee are once again offering members affordable rates for this annual event, and as in prior years, partners are invited to attend the event, along with guests of members.

Priced at 1,800RMB per couple for members

Priced at 2,200RMB per couple non-members

900RMB for those members attending without partners

Dress code: Black Tie for gentlemen.

November Dinner 2017

The clubs event in November will see another first  for the Shanghailanders with the visit to the recently opened Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire, at the Capella hotel on Jianguo Xi Lu.

Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire, serves French cuisine with a contemporary twist, cooked by Gagnaire’s protégé Romain Chapel, son of the legendary French chef Alain Chapel, who is working on a unique seasonal mouth-watering menu for the clubs dinner.

The clubs event in October will be at Gusto Bistro lead by Chef and owner Ewald Poersch who has spent 20 years in various European countries and has gained high experience in 5-star-cuisine.

Ewald personally ensures the high quality and authenticity of each single dish from his kitchen. He is also a professional sommelier and offers a wide range of splendid wines.

The clubs event in September will see the chapter enjoying the culinary delights from ACQUA located at the Grand Kempinski in Pudong.

Acqua is an elegant and stylish restaurant with an interior design that takes full advantage of the stunning views of Shanghai. The club’s food and wine masters are working with the chef on capturing the essence of the Italian spirit through their food.
