March 2017 Dinner

The club is delighted to advise, that the Shanghailanders have been able to once again secure the much sought after Villa Le Bec as the venue for the clubs dinner on Friday March 17, 2017.

The event is a Shanghailanders MEMBERS only dinner, and limited to 20 persons, members will be dinning in the private Buddha Room of Villa Le Bec, with pre-dinner cocktails taken in the garden.

December 2016 Annual Black Tie Dinner

The clubs event in December will be the Annual Black tie Dinner, which will be held on Friday December 9, 2016 at the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund, where we will round off another successful year of the club, and to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of the club.

As the Shanghailanders club is a non-profit organisation, the committee has decided to subsidize the December dinner for members, and offer the event at the following affordable rates:

1,700RMB for B&B members and this is for a COUPLE,
1,900RMB for guests, and again this is for a COUPLE.
900RMB for B&B members attending alone
1,000RMB for individual guests

The clubs event in October will see the chapter returning to the Fairmont Peace hotel for dinner, which is where the club held the very successful opening dinner for the 2015 worldwide B&B convention, plus the clubs annual Black Tie dinner last December where the club raised some 15,000RMB for charity.

Registration and pre-dinner drinks will be served in the Library Distillery, followed by dinner in the private dining room of Miss Ding’s. The clubs food and wine masters are working with the kitchen team on preparing a unique dining experience for members.

August 2016 Dinner

The clubs event in August will be a dinner at Chez Maurice

A piece of France has returned to the former French Concession, embodying both the re-gentrification of this neighbourhood and perhaps the apex of local interest in all things Francophile and bourgeoisie.

Housed at Number 50 Taian Lu, Chez Maurice The Grill is one of three other establishments in the building, Wine Bar & Charcuterie, sake and whisky bar Revive on the floors above.

Working alongside Chef Maurice, are Anna Bautista and Sean Jorgensen, the same power couple/consulting chefs are behind the menu at number of other Shanghai restaurants.

The dining room presents a tasteful and casual atmosphere, awash in white tiles and dark wood floors, a design that’s also shared by the wine bar. The clubs food and wine masters are working with the kitchen team on preparing a classical French dining experience for members.
